Dawn's Work Biography
Prior Education & Experience
- Started yoga at age 11 & added meditation from age 14
- Business Studies, University of Westminster, London
- MSc. Accounting & Finance, The London School of Economics
- Career in corporate banking, specialising in mergers & acquisitions
Research for the award of Ph.D., School of Management, Cranfield University
- Undertook research with managers from a division of a multinational company on stress and pressure at work. Used both quantitative and qualitative methods.
- The results identified effective and ineffective strategies for managing occupational stress. Dawn created a model that outlines how attitudes and beliefs affects work performance and stress levels. These findings translate into practical strategies that improve work performance, job satisfaction, and well being.
- Professor Cary Cooper, a leading expert in the field of stress research, was the external examiner for this work.
Training in Clinical Nutrition
- At The Institute of Optimum Nutrition, trained directly by Patrick Holford & Kate Neil.
Other Training
- 3 years of biofeedback training, including EEG machines, with Isobel Maxwell Cade.
- Over 15 years of on-going psychological & personal development training, including a one-year counselling certificate, several years of transpersonal psychology workshops, and neuro-linguistic programming (NLP).
- Various trainings in energy work, including two years of professional training with the School of Energy Healing (based on the work of Barbara Brennan). Several years of chi gung practice.
- On-going personal practice in yoga (Iyengar, Ashtanga), meditation, and chi gung.
Teaching & Training Experience
- Previously a Visiting Lecturer at The London School of Economics, University of Westminster, and CASS Business School
- 10 years training experience, working with small groups to groups of 750. Clients include Accenture, Liverpool City Council, and Virgin Trains.
Voluntary Work
- Previous voluntary work has included mentoring for the Princes Trust, support for terminal ill people with The Befriending Network, and educational support for teenagers in the East End of London.
